Francesca Rheannon

Francesca Rheannon is Co-Director of Sea Change Media and Co-Host/Producer of Sea Change Radio.  

She's an award-winning broadcast journalist with a background in political economy and environmental education. She has written on sustainability for E-The Environmental MagazineSocialFunds.comCSRwire.comThe CRO, and New Solutions. She has also covered sustainability-related issues as producer of Techcast at UMass, the podcast of the Office of Commercial Ventures and Intellectual Property at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

As an independent radio producer, Rheannon won the 2006 Nancy Dickerson Whitehead Award for the series she produced, Voices of HIV: HIV/AIDS in the Latino Communities of Western New England. Her features have appeared on National Public Radio and community radio stations. In addition to co-hosting/producing Sea Change Radio, Rheannon hosts/produces Writer’s Voice, a nationally syndicated radio show and podcast that interviews authors on issues that matter across all genres.

Rheannon co-founded Nuestras Raices, a Latino community organization honored by Ashoka for social entrepreneurship. She wrote a study of occupational health education programs for the U.S. Department of Labor that helped establish federal funding for such education under the New Directions Programs. Francesca served as director of the Western Massachusetts Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health for a decade.
